Cosmetic Blepharoplasty

A blepharoplasty may be done for reconstructive purposes where there is definitely a decrease in the visual field. However, at times it is noted in young woman and men that there is a tendency of excess skin to develop on the upper eyelids. At times, this may significantly interfere with the person's appearance and may give the appearance of someone being very tired.

In this situation, a blepharoplasty may be done to remove the excess tissue of the upper eyelid. Particularly in a young woman, this helps open the eyes and helps to allow a greater area for placing makeup. In a man, it may remove the extra skin that is touching on the lashes and allow a more youthful appearance.

Of course, one must consider the effect of the eyebrows in removing the skin, as it is possible that the eyebrows may be actual cause of the problem instead of the eyelids. Refer to the discussion under eyebrows to help find out if this may be affecting you.
